The Charities |

As well as having an excellent experience, we are also doing this event in order to raise money for charity. We are raising money for two different causes. The first cause is to raise money for various Gambian charities that help the children and the people of Gambia. This is done by selling the car on arrival, and all proceeds, (or the car) going to registered Gambian charities. |

The other charity that we are supporting is the charity of our choice, which happens to be THE MINES ADVISORY GROUP (MAG). This charity is involved with the slow and dangerous process of removing and making safe mines throughout the world. Due to the amount of conflicts that have taken place in Africa land mines are a problem throughout many African countries. Not only do the mines injure and maim many of the people who live in these countries, but they also prevent much of their land being useable for agriculture and development. MAG not only helps clear mines, but also trains local people to be able to disarm and recognise the different land mines. The charity is also involved in education to help prevent any accidents where mines are the cause. |
